About The Author

Quiet, prim and proper and “masungit” are usually the first impressions to me because I don’t talk to anyone. I speak very softly and I just stay in one place because I know some hate loud, hyperactive and “bibo”(someone who always volunteers him/herself) people. What I do is I “test the water first,” observing people’s behavior and gradually discovering their personalities. It takes time before I open myself to them and when that time comes, they will find out that I am talkative, hyperactive, and easy to deal with—the exact opposite of their first impressions. My family and close friends would always tell me, I could be a talk show host, or a showbiz reporter. Oops! I prefer to be the next Pia Guanio or Phoemela Barranda rather than Cristy Fermin or Lolit Solis. Don’t you think they’re already “antique” in the world of showbizness.

Showbizness has been the favorite past-time of my family. This includes reading gossip magazines, patronizing local shows of the two big giant tv networks and doing a movie marathon every Metro Manila Film Festival. I remember when I was in kindergarten, my aunt would make me sleep at midday so that we could go to Broadway Centrum and watch That’s Entertainment or to Metropolitan theatre to watch Vilma or VIP if I may remember. So are you now convinced that Showbiz is my thing! My interest in media as a whole brought me to Broadcast Communication in college at the University of the Philippines. I landed to the Entertainment Division of one of the biggest TV network right after College. In my one year, I saw almost all the big names in showbiz, watched them perform live and even when they are behind the camera. I also had a taste of actual pre and post-production. I had to leave the network to try business and enjoy what you call “time freedom.” After three years, I missed the media industry particularly showbiz hence when my friend asked me if I am interested to put up a blog about my particular interest, I didn’t have second thought, showbiz was the first thing that came into my mind. This paved way to the birth of showbizology.com.
