Game ka na b Edu?!

March 10th, 2007

it was only today that i got to watch Gknb with full attention, sa office kase syempre di ako makaconcentrate so can’t react on Edu’s hosting. Edu temporarily takes the place of Kris Aquino, since Kris is on her maternity leave. well, based on what i saw kanina, Edu needs more practice. pero syempre, we have to consider 1 week palang naman sya. i noticed kase na he runs out of comments sa mga celebrity contestants. he needs further research kase it’s obvious that he doesn’t know them well. nagkakaroon ng dead air buti nalang hindi siya nagstustutter. he’s not aware of the latest chickas like wala siyang matanong kay nina, i think he doesn’t know the ”thing” between Noy & Nina. kay he just asked nina, if she has ever encountered a drunken man during her gig. with Tuesday naman, during the jackpot round, he was joking Tuesday about her movies kung saan siya nakapagguest. hello?! Tuesday did supporting roles na and madami-dami narin, feeling nya yata newcomer palang si tuesday. does he even know that Tuesday is a UP graduate. feeling ko kanina, i was watching weakest link eh, maybe this is the reason narin why he got him kase nga he was very good in weakest link in fairness! but GKNB is different, he needs to change his style. well Kris Aquino is Kris Aquino, Kris can really carry the show and has good interaction with her contestants but I know Edu is good also in his own way, yun nga lang baka hindi pa siya “game.” let’s wait and see!

The Danica Sotto & Marc Pingris’ wed

March 7th, 2007

Grabe! as expected by my friends, affected na naman ako ng Danica Sotto & Marc Pingris’ wedding, not because i’m a fan of either one one of them but because i am always affected by anything na gusto kong magpaffect (do you get what i mean) even the person involved is not related to me. siguro with danica’s case, we are of the same age bracket kase so feeling, ang tanda ko na ba at dapat i should get married narin, oh no! naiiyak ako when vic sotto was sharing his feelings, na at first daw he was sad because syempre parang kailan lang danica was still her baby kaya i suddenly thought of my dad, parang feeling ko siya yung nagsasabi. i can feel the nervousness of danica when she was being interviewed, hay siguro para kang nasusuka na di mo maexplain.

going back to danica hehe, this is not about me pala. their wedding was very quiet actually hindi siya masyadong napag-usapan actually i wouldn’t know if i didnt watch startalk. wala man lang exclusive coverage ng GMA, maybe that’s what the couple like. i wanted to see sana the celebrities who attended the wedding but i only saw alessandra, vic and tito. i wonder if Joey De leon did make it to the wedding because he was hosting Startalk while Butch Francisco covering it live last Saturday. anyway, it was a simple garden wedding. well, hindi ako siguro ganon kaaffected if it was Vic Sotto who got married kase naman naunahan pa siya ng anak nya diba its time for him to settle down na talaga and be committed.

You Got Me

March 4th, 2007

Ang gwapo ni Sam! I said this several times while watching You Got me! I can’t control myself because he is so gorgeous! This is the second movie of Sam Milby and Toni Gonzaga but this time with Zanjoe Marudo. This is again directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina under Star Cinema. Direk Cathy was also the director becoz of U, Close to You (John Lloyd & Beal Alonzo) and You are the One, the first movie of Sam and Toni. Molina proved did a very good job in the three movies mentioned and I can say that she is one of the bankable directors that we have today. She is a gem to Star Cinema. As of press time, the movie is certified box-office hit! I’m not surprised because the movie is worth seeing for. It’s not just an ordinary love story with a happy ending. Sobrang creative sa pag-iisip ng characters, Toni plays a tough policewoman who is afraid to fall in love because she witnessed how hard it was for her dad to move on after her mom died. Sam on the other hand plays geeky and “lampa,” he doesn’t join operation but more on the technical side. Like toni, there’s a reason why he is afraid to try, afraid to fire gun, to fight and to express his love for Toni. This time, Sam’s difficulty in speaking tagalong was justified by his being Visaya, his family only speaks English and Cebuano. He witnessed how his best friend was shot during military operation in Mindanao. Sam acts like as if he has been in the industry for so long, considering the language barrier. Siyempre mas ok parin if he masters his tagalog para wag limited ang roles na pwedeng ibigay sa kanya. Zanjoe’s performance impressed me sobra! I even asked my sister if this movie is really his first one.

Para kaseng sanay na sanay na siya sa screen. He’s not conscious when he’s acting. In character talaga! Bagay na bagay din kase sa kanya yung role! He plays jologs who sells pirated vcds and dvds that’s why he encountered Toni and this where the love triangle begins. Sobrang his character made me laugh! Galing nya magbato ng lines!

Of course it is expected that Toni and Sam will end up together but here the other guy is given a fair chance hindi agad dinespatcha unlike in other movies na maawa ka sa ka love triangle especially pagmabait. Zanjoe did not die (usually that’s what happens sa mga love stories like this just to end the love triangle). Basta very cerative rin how he and toni’s love story ends. Meanwhile, Toni is a born-natural comedian. Kaya nyang dalin yung role. Very convincing siya dito as “maton” policewoman. Mala Lucy Liu ang dating! They have the same figure!  Actually the whole cast is commendable not to forget Jason, who got discovered in Pinoy Big Brother first edition. Wait lang, isn’t Sam was one of his housemates and Zanjoe was in PBB’s celebrity edition naman? What a coincidence!

Anyway, I really enjoyed the film! If you just want to relax and get away from stress, watch this film because for sure once you get out of the theater, you will also say what I said, “Sam, Toni and Zanjoe, you got me!”

Angelina Jolie wanna be

March 1st, 2007

I can’t help myself not to comment on Gretchen Barreto because i saw her in the news kanina because of YES Magazine party. she was asked by if she and Dawn Zulueta said hello to each other since they were both at the party. As expected Gretchen gave her “maldita” answer. And talaga namang she had to brag pa talaga her Valentino outfit hello?!! Oo na, everybody knows that she can afford to buy branded stuff and she can carry it well pero it doesn’t have to come from her mouth how rich she is kaya tuloy the real elites don’t accept her. and bakit kailangan awayin nya lahat ng tao everytime may magcomment lang about her even the comment is not bad. Gretchen feels that she really looks Angelina Jolie kaya she made her lips “retoke” (didn’t you notice?)  just like Pops! magbestfriends nga talaga sila! they’re so vain! sino pa friends nya? Ruffa!  sabi nga tell me who your friends are and i tell you who you are.  Sana she immitates din Jolie’s active participation in various charitable works.

Promise is “The Promise”

March 1st, 2007

Huwatt?! It’s already March! it was just like yesterday when me and my sister were at The Block, the newest annex of SM City watching “The Promise” of Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin as our valentine’s date. It’s been our “tradition” to watch Richard Gutierrez and Angel Locsin’s movie every valentine’s day because my sister is Richard’s die-hard fan as in! we don’t miss any of his movies kahit pare-pareho nalang ang twist ng story, nothing new! it’s always about two people falling in love against all odds, nag-eexchange lang sila ng roles, it’s either Richard is the one rich while Angel is the poor girl or the other way around. I also noticed there’s always a scene na umuulan,i think it’s because Richard doesn’t know how to shed tears. the water helps kase para hindi obvious na walang luha si Richard. If you watched Mano Po, may umuulan na scene din. they were the stars of the last Mano Po and i guess people were disappointed of Joel Lamangan because it was far far behind compared to the first ones. for me personally, hindi naman siya ganon ka-off buti nalang si Lamangan parin ang nagdirect. wala ka din naman ibang maiisip na story for the two, love story lang. “trying hard” nga lang si Angel Locsin for her role as chinese but for Richard, his character was credible naman. this movie was not a blockbuster same thing with their latest movie, “The Promise” considering the promotion effort of GMA and considering wala naman siyang kasabay na tagalog movie. they were lucky because Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby’s movie didn’t push through on the same play date as theirs. Sayang! kase this one is far better than their naunang movies. It has a good plot. i heard that this is a remake of Hihintayin kita sa langit (Richard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta) modern version nga lang itong The Promise. in terms of cinematography, The Promise has a “promise” but actors wise, Richard Gomez is Richard Gomez, though nag-improve daw si Richard Gutierrez dito. o diba pareho pang Richard! but i didn’t see any changes same as Angel Locsin’s acting–just the same! but i want to commend TJ Trinidad’s acting considering he’s new same with Rhean, i forgot her last name but she was the love interest of Richard in Captain Barbell. TJ knows how to cry pa compared to Richard, na dinaan naman this time sa lighting. There was a scene where in Richard was in dark place habang nag-eemote. Para huwag naman sabihing palaging ulan. The two look comfortable naman with their love scenes to think first time daw ni Angel to be daring. it was not mahalay naman. For me hindi napag-isipan ang costumes. The movie is narrative, the love story happened some decades ago so the narrator in the movie plays as the old Richard and so dapat the characters of Richard and Angel are supposed to be wearing something makaluma and not the clothes of today. Anong era ba dapat ito? how come may cellphone with camera na ba that time? wala kaseng namention na time kaya so confusing!

of course it has a moral lesson naman and that is—Promises are not made to be broken… kaya I fulfilled my promise to my sis that we will watch this movie no matter what

Is there a “hope” for Kris and James’ marriage

February 25th, 2007

Election is already in the air, campaigns, left and right, candidates as headlines in the news. At the height of this election craze, a breaking news involving Kris Aquino and his basketball player husband, James Yap rocked the nation. The marriage of the two is said to be on the rock after the beauty receptionist came out revealing her alleged relationship with Yap.

If you can remember, a few years back, Kris Aquino admitted her relationship with Joey Marquez who was still married that time to Alma Moreno but later on broke up and even confessed that she had STD. Was isn’t it ironic that now it was Kris Aquino who is at “Alma’s shoe.”

Those who hate Kris, say it’s Karma, but for the general public, the sympathy is on Kris. I noticed that Kris changed a lot after she got married; maybe she already learned her lessons. She is discreet now when it comes to her personal life, and she already knows how to keep quiet maybe because she is really determined to raise a complete family. I was impressed on how she answered the issue on her Sunday talk show, The Buzz. Yes, she is a public figure but still it is her right not to divulge everything. She didn’t deny that something wrong is happening in their marriage, she didn’t mention any affair but instead generalized the problem. She said that forgiveness ruled over them. I agree with Kris, since I am a devout Catholic like her who believes on the sanctity of Marriage. Man is said to be weak when it comes to woman, you know what I mean. Even those who have been together for so long encounter this kind of problem because the husband still gets attracted in other women and fall into temptation, but I believe it’s really up to us women to say no when married guys approach us. Kris understood James, maybe she also has fault but she knew that her husband still loves him and that’s what matters. Kris forgave to save her marriage especially that she will give birth soon. If Hope (name of the “self-proclaimed” third party) is on the right mind, the moment she felt that James was “flirting” with her, she should have avoided and turned down the latter right there and then. Hope should not have came out in national TV because first, she is not a celebrity. Even if she was paid or she was persuaded by some talk show host she should have remained silent about the issue and showed a little respect to the couple. All her statements were contradicting. She said she never expected anything from James but now here she is, flaunting her immorality. She even said Kris should not be mad at her because she’s just a human who fell in love. Hello?! What does she expect? Kris would thank her after putting her pregnancy at risk? She should not ride the issue for the sake of fame. She should let the couple start anew and, before she gets kicked out from her job and before the whole nation remembers her as “kerida,” mistress and a home wrecker, she should stop appearing on TV and move on. A mistake could never be corrected with another mistake.

I am not a Kris Aquino fan, actually I hate her for her “I love myself” attitude. I was so against her when she had a relationship with Joey Marquez who was married and this doesn’t mean that James has no fault at all. He should really make up for his fault and be responsible.  In other words, I just hate home wreckers.

I hope that Kris and James would really stand beside each other and not allow this trial to ruin their relationship. I know Kris believes in prayer so she should not stop.  I hope that this issue will be put to an end before another showbiz marriage shatters.
